Contemporary realistic fiction are stories that could happen in the world as we see it today by using real characters, settings, and plots.
With this genre we can teach students respect, cause and effect and writing autobiography's. We could have the students before class or after class write a journal about events of their life in school or at home. Students can make their journal personal and only share with the class bits of information that has been written and use the journal for practice as a habit to write things down during the day. I think that contemporary realistic fiction writing and reading are going to be a little easier for students sense most of the events written happen everyday. I cant pay attention when a move all of a sudden has aliens and spaceships.
